More QuakeCon 2009 highlights - Posted by LoreOfSerpents on August 15, 2009

I wasn't exaggerating when I said we have LOTS of pictures this year. We'll be organizing all of them and posting the link to the gallery later, but for now, take a look at what was going on earlier this weekend:

Who knew that a reflective blanket would protect you from the alien mind-reading rays being emitted by your 7 TB disk array? Too bad he doesn't have a shiny helmet to go with it.

Since ZeniMax acquired id, it's no surprise that Bethesda had a huge booth at this year's QuakeCon.

Here is one corner of the BYOC, before the back rows filled up.

Butta liked this sticker so much that he left the person a GG pen.

Why go to QuakeCon for the video games when you can go for the foosball table? Butta and Melinko played a quick game after we helped get the first-come/first-serve line into the BYOC.

One of my favorite mods in the convention this year! Yes, he did manage to fit everything for the computer into that party keg.

Those of you who didn't make it to this year's QuakeCon, you're missing out on an awful lot of Quake Live gaming! They debuted the Mac and Linux versions of Quake Live as well.

Another fun mod, and a landmark in its own right. This styrofoam fixture towers over most other things in the BYOC (although some Bawls can towers are catching up).

The last picture I'll show off for now is the Texan Gamers station in another corner of the BYOC. These folks have been amazing at getting the BYOC tournaments going this year, and they have a projector set up to advertise those tournaments on-the-fly. Many thanks to them for making sure this QuakeCon staple is getting the attention it deserves!
