Servers

This is our current server list and the admins of those servers in parenthesis:

  • forum.nl.eu.globalgamers.net (mrTn)
  • green.uk.eu.globalgamers.net (X-LP)
  • iago.ks.us.globalgamers.net (brian)
  • icarus.nj.us.globalgamers.net (daemonic)
  • kraken.il.us.globalgamers.net (ButtaKnife)
  • paintball.tx.us.globalgamers.net (ButtaKnife)

Round-robins

To connect to Global Gamers, point your IRC client to:

  • irc.globalgamers.net
Standard Ports: 6667, 6668, 7000, 5555, 55555
SSL ports: 6660, 47000

We provide extra round-robins so you can connect to a server closer to your home:

  • us.globalgamers.net: North America
  • eu.globalgamers.net: Europe
  • au.globalgamers.net: Australia
  • as.globalgamers.net: Asia
  • af.globalgamers.net: Africa
  • sa.globalgamers.net: South America

As we have servers in specific countries and states, we also created more specific round-robins for those servers:

  • fl.us.globalgamers.net: Florida, US
  • ks.us.globalgamers.net: Kansas, US
  • nj.us.globalgamers.net: New Jersey, US
  • tx.us.globalgamers.net: Texas, US
  • de.globalgamers.net: Germany
  • nl.globalgamers.net: The Netherlands
  • uk.globalgamers.net: The United Kingdom
This will take you to a server in that specific country or state, if one is available. Otherwise it will use a round-robin closest to your country. For instance, if you try nl.globalgamers.net and no server in the Netherlands is available, it will automatically try eu.globalgamers.net next. This allows you to be even more specific in connecting!

SSL Encrypted Connections

All Global Gamers servers support SSL connections. If your client supports SSL you can connect to port 6660 or 47000 to take advantage of the SSL capability.

Note: mIRC supports SSL when you install OpenSSL. Read more about this at the mIRC homepage.

For other clients that do not support SSL natively, programs such as stunnel can be used to connect to the servers using SSL.

Bot Access

For IRC bots, we also can enable bot access on the bot's NickServ account. When enabled, the bot can join more channels and it can send more text at once without being disconnected.

If you wish to request bot access for your bot, please contact our support staff on IRC.

Linking

If you wish to link a server to support us, and with that the gaming community, please contact somebody from our network team. Please note that you must have root access to the machine.
