How To Utilize XChat To Connect To GlobalGamers

1. Once downloaded, go to the directory where you downloaded it at and double-click on the file.

2. Click "Next" and you'll find the options for installing different components.



3. Press "Next" again and you'll end up with a screen asking where you want the program to be installed to (If you don't where to install it, leave it as the default)



4. Here you can select a "Start Menu" folder and create a shortcut on the desktop if you prefer. After choosing, click on the "Install" button.



5. Open the XChat program and since GlobalGamers isn't added to the server list, we will need to add it for later use. Click on "Add" to add a new IRC network to the list. After you push the button, just type GlobalGamers and hit the enter key.



6. While the name "GlobalGamers" is highlighted, click on the "Edit" button to add information for the newly added IRC server. (NOTE: Replace account and password with your own NickServ account and password)



In the same window, click on "newserver/6667" and press "Edit" then type "irc.globalgamers.net/6667" and hit the "Enter" key. Once done, click "Close" on the bottom right corner.

7. Before you connect to the GlobalGamers IRC server, fill in the appropriate fields according to what nickname you want at the top below "User Information".



8. Now its time to connect to GlobalGamers IRC Network and chat with the rest of the gamers worldwide. Just click on the "Connect" button at the bottom right hand corner and it'll connect to the network.

9. CONGRATULATIONS! You have successfully installed and configured XChat correctly for IRC.
