PLAYOFFS

The playoffs will take place Saturday the 16th, and 23rd of this month. The 16th will consist of all 8 teams playing in the quarter finals. The 23rd will consist of the winning 4 playing in the semi finals, as well as the finals right after. Teams can change 'times' if both teams agree, but they cannot change the dates. We're hoping to have Jehar streaming most of the playoffs.

Each team will choose their map from the map pool given; which is based off all the tie maps from the season. If a tie map is needed, the teams will use the process of elimination to decide the tie map.

Each team plays their map on their server, and the tie will be on the server of the team that ranked higher in the season.

This week I'm interviewing przeMx, who is part of team oXmoZe, currently joint leaders of the EU group.

How long have you been playing with oXz, your current team?
I am not sure, but I think I joined oXz at least a year ago.

If you could join any clan you wanted, would you stay in oXz or pick another? And if you would leave, which clan would you join?
I would do a mix of oxz and team >o.O< and we would be untouchouble in the whole pb scene! But I feel very good in oxz and I am not going to leave them.

What type of player are you - do you just rush all the time, or try and play tactically?
Heh, I am a 100% rusher. I don't know any other player who rushes so hard like me.

So do you have a favourite map for rushing on? :D

Why do you like prolandr so much?
Hmm, because of the many jumps there - if you dont know the jumps there, then I'll cap on you many times in a match ;p And it's also a really fast map, you have to have good recon there.

Are there any teams in the league you really want to beat?
Our plans are long term so we wanna beat >.o.O< in the final. From the EU scene - eX cus we don't like them, but we already did it ;]

So - right now your team is tied for the lead of the EU group with kuc. They're also your last match before playoffs. Do you think they are your biggest threats at the moment?
For me, the match vs kuc will be the best match in the EU group, but I am not worried about them - 2nd place in the group is cool too - but they won't have an easy match against us :]

Our second interview of the season is with webhead - a league admin who is also a leading member of Team X.

Webhead - how long have you been playing paintball2?
About 3 years, I think. I started when I was down at a university (which didn't work out so well), and I was gone from the game for quite a while (about 2 years I guess) but I just recently came back.

How long have you been a member of Team X?
I joined them after I came back to the game, which was ... a few months ago, I think. I'm not really good about keeping up with times and dates and such. :/

Why did you come back? What is it about DP:PB2 that you like?
Good question. Before I came back, my hobby du jour was Wikipedia. I think I just remembered DP one day and decided to hop online to see what was going on... it's hard to really say why I came back tho. I guess I just enjoy the game. I feel like I am capable of playing halfway-decent on it compared to other games like Quake Live where I barely have a chance at all.

Do you have a preferred gameplay style? Are you a tactical player, or do you prefer rushing in and trying to get as many hits as possible?
I think when I first started playing, I was very much against rushing, but only because I couldn't do it well. Now I'm more like Gama: I rush even when I shouldn't -- my clanmates have to restrain me! But even then, I don't rush extremely hard; I just try to get out into the gameplay as quick as possible. Also, I have no tactics. My gameplay isn't very methodical at all, and it shows.

Are you looking forward to matching any specific teams in the league?
I'm looking forward to matching [GG] as I think it will be a fun one; my skill probably matches theirs better than it would other teams. I'm not looking forward to week 5 when we play Myers' team since they're so good.

What is your favourite map, if you have one, and why?
I don't feel like I'm proficient enough at any one map to have a favorite; there are several that I just like the design of, but I don't know them off the top of my head. Like Gama, I like shazam22 and also 33 (as long as I don't play them too often) as I am competent at both. However, the airtime maps have never been a favorite of mine, for some reason.

What do you value most in members of your team?
(Since all the teams worked out to be clan-based, I'm answering as if team and clan are interchangeable.) The term "clan" is more than another word for "team", to me. I don't like clan-hoppers; I want to be with people who want to stick around for a while, make friends, and have fun. I also value a good-natured attitude; I don't want to be with people who will actually get mad over losing, or who are only in it to win it. Again, I'm in it to have fun.

Do you have any goals for your final result?
To not be at the bottom of the stats. (Looks like I'll probably be achieving that goal!)
